Learn massage therapy while enjoying the sun and sea of Hawaii at the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage. Our “State of the Heart” professional massage certification program provides you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to open your own bodywork practice.

MSTM is licensed as a private vocational school by the Hawaii State Department of Education, and approved by the Hawaii Board of Massage Therapy. We are a member of the American Massage Therapists Association Council of Schools and of the International Massage Association. We are an approved school in Oregon and Washington State and our curriculum meets all requirements for entrance to the National Certification Examination, considered the highest professional credential in our field and a requirement for licensing in many states. Our graduates have close to 100% success rate on both state and national exams.

Our 650-hour certification program is one of the most affordable anywhere at only $4,800 US. We offer Part-time (12 month) and Full-time (7 month) programs every March and September. The curriculum includes Anatomy & Kinesiology, Swedish & Lomilomi massage, Hydrotherapy & Spa Treatments, Deep Tissue & Neuromuscular Therapy, Assessment & Treatments, Sports massage & Therapeutic Exercise, Asian bodywork, Reflexology, Bodymind Integration, community outreach opportunities and a fully supervised clinic internship. Advanced certification workshops and CEU’s are available throughout the year for students to wish pursue further study and specialization in a variety of massage and bodywork disciplines.

The 200-hour clinic internship prepares students for working in the massage industry. In conjunction with the internship, members of the community can get a relaxing 1-hour massage in our student clinic for $30 or in our professional clinic for $60.

MSTM offers in-house financing through payment plans, a Friends & Family discount, and a limited amount of need-based tuition assistance may be available. We’re approved for funding through Veterans Administration and Vocational Rehabilitation and with INS to issue international students an I-20 for their M-1 student visa.
